Susan Tekulve's latest publication is Savage Pilgrims, a collection of stories and poems from Serving House Books available on Amazon.com. An earlier short story collection, My Mother's War Stories, was published by Winnow Press (Austin, Texas). Her stories, poems and essays have appeared in Shenandoah, The Georgia Review, New Letters, Best New Writing 2007, The Indiana Review, Denver Quarterly, Puerto del Sol, Prairie Schooner, New Letters, Beloit Fiction Journal, Crab Orchard Review, The Literary Review, Web Del Sol, Black Warrior Review and The Kansas City Star. She has been awarded scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and the Sewanee Writers' Conference. Wash Day is an excerpt from her novel in progress, with "Wash Day" as chapter 1 and "Honeymoon" as chapter 2.
