Acknowledgments

This chapbook is composed of poems not previously published in any of her existing collections, though some have been published in literary reviews, among them The Honest Ulsterman, Poetry Ireland, De Brakke (Belgium), Ropes, Women's Work, College Green, The Living Stream and The Cork Literary Review. 'Grace' won the Michael Bruce Memorial Prize, 'The Satin Gown' won the Women's National Poetry Competition and 'On Reading Michael Longley's Snow Water' was included in Love Poet, Carpenter—Michael Longley at Seventy, Enitharmon Press. 'Emigration Photo' was written to accompany a painting by Hughie O'Donoghue.
